From May 1 to September 1, Street Evangelist Tom Alexander will bring the 10-foot, 60-pound cross to the cities along the California Freeway 99 corridor and pray hard and long for Great Revival and Great Awakening to break out in each of these cities and the counties they are located in.

So far Tom has brought the large cross to 190 California cities as well as all fifty states and state capitals.

Response to the cross walks and prayer talks to the living God on the behalf of the people living in these California cities has been very positive. The message of the cross is God’s message of love to all people. As the Scripture exclaims, God is not willing that anyone should perish but that all should come to repentance and the knowledge of Jesus Christ and why He died for all humanity (2 Peter 3:9).

To that end, our Summer Of Salvation —S.O.S.—Campaign is a special all summer long outreach of Walk The Cross Ministries placing special emphasis on praying for the elected leaders of each of these cities as well as each city’s Thin Blue Line (Police Department). Hoisting the 10-foot cross upright at each city’s City Hall and Police Department and praying that these elected men and women and each police officer follow the ways of God is what keeps cities safe, peaceful and prosperous.

The importance of godly men and women elected to public offices and godly police officers cannot be overstated. The Scriptures point out a deep contrast between the godly and the ungodly: “When the godly are in authority the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan” (Proverbs 29:2), and “The wicked prowl on every side when vileness is exalted by the sons of men’ (Psalm 12:8). The phrase “vileness is exalted among the sons of men” indicates a societal shift where what is considered vile or morally wrong is celebrated and promoted, while what is righteous is suppressed or ignored.
